For each step, the text statements are supported by schematic diagrams. In addition to the most characteristic morphological features of the species, the key helps to get to the level of a species or group of species, even under field conditions, by combining their habitat, size and coloring. Due to the small size of the ants and the high morphological similarity of the species of the species complexes, the determination with the magnifying glass involves trade-offs, as a result of which 100xx species out of 126 domestic species can be determined up to the species level.
